Personal Approach

I understand that beginning therapy can be anxiety provoking for people. I am a warm, compassionate and gentle practitioner. Colleagues and clients confirm that these qualities enable freedom of expression and enhance my therapeutic approach. I have extensive experience in offering Psychotherapy and Counselling and work using Integrative theoretical principles and skills. This approach has enabled me to use a number of psychotherapeutic tools. Working predominantly with both Humanistic and Psychodynamic theoretical principles, I have also been trained in a number of other therapeutic modalities in order to heal trauma.

Seeking a Therapist can be difficult for people because of the volume and variety of therapy being offered. I have 16 years of experience working as a Specialist Counsellor for a Neurodevelopmental Service (NHS). This along with my private practise over a period of 23 years has given me a solid, broad insight in to ways of meeting the psychological and emotional needs of individuals using the varied skills attained from working in intensive situations. Above all I have learned that the human approach is the most important quality a Therapist has and makes the difference between short term and desired long term outcomes. I therefore offer an individualised approach, centred on holistic growth and development.
